Bruce Farringer, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

Dr. Farringer began his practice in our area in 1991 following the completion of his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Ohio State University.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Farringer also completed a residency in Family Practice prior to moving on to Obstetrics and Gynecology.

He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Dr. Farringer is married. He and his wife have two children. He enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities including running and tennis. The family skis together in the winter and loves camping in the summer.

Karen Dearmont, M.D., F.A.C.O.G

Dr. Dearmont established her practice in the Reno/Sparks area in 1993 following the completion of her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Ohio State University.

She graduated cum laude from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Ohio State University.

Dr. Dearmont is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

During her time away from her busy practice, Dr. Dearmont enjoys many of the outdoor activities afforded us by the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. She is also an accomplished horsewoman and has successfully competed in many shows throughout the western states.

Leah Najima, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

Dr. Najima joined Sierra Women’s Health in 2001 following completion of her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of New Mexico.

She received her Bachelors degree from the University of California at San Diego, and her Masters degree from the University of Nevada-Reno. Dr. Najima received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

In 1991 she began her service with the Air National Guard. Dr. Najima was a flight surgeon at the time of her retirement in 2006.

She is married with two children. In spite of a very busy practice, she still finds time to participate in her children’s school and after school activities. The family loves skiing together. Dr. Najima enjoys playing tennis competitively.
